Chapter 01
Roots in the Bronx

I was born in New York City and raised in the Bronx as the first American-born child of Honduran immigrants. Growing up between cultures meant navigating different worlds at once: language, identity, expectations, and opportunity while staying deeply connected to the resilience, community, and values my parents brought with them from Honduras.
Long before I understood strategy, I understood people. Watching my parents build a life from the ground up taught me that strong communities don't happen by chance. They're built through resilience, opportunity, and people willing to invest in something bigger than themselves. That perspective continues to shape the way I lead, build, and serve organizations today.
